| Before
you begin... |
| 1. Do NOT sign the artwork
prior to photograph/scan. The signature normally does not reproduce
well for a number of reasons. A bad signature on good art can make
the whole thing look bad. (If you have already signed the piece, you
can request that we remove the signature.) |
| 2. Decide on the output size
prior to scanning. Remember this: bigger is better. We can always
make a big picture smaller, but to make a small picture bigger will
be sacrificing resolution. |
| 3. On canvas paintings, make
sure that the canvas is properly gessoed before you create your masterpiece.
If canvas shows through the paint/gesso, then that effect will be
reproduced in your final image. |

| Photography Requirements
for ARTWORK |
In order to do a limited edition
or poster run of your fine art, you must start with a good quality
photograph.
A large or medium format positive transparancy is required (NO slides!). |
| 1. Take it to a professional
ART photographer! (See
"Photobition" below) |
| 2. Get a medium or large format
transparancy done. |
| 3. Have it drum scanned. |
(Note:
Original photos for reproduction do not have to be
re-photographed. Only drum scanned. Ask us if you are not sure.) |
